Richard has had a passion for dancing ever since he was a kid - winning school dance competitions at his school discos all the way through his school years. However, he had never taken a dance lesson in his life until the summer of 2007 when he took a merengue class whilst on holiday in the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed it so much he decided after that to do something more constructive about his 'passion'.

In 2008 he started taking Salsa lessons under the tuition of Angus and has never looked back - now attending classes throughout the UK & abroad. As well as Salsa Richard also enjoys other dance styles including Cha Cha, Bachata, Merengue, Kizomba & of course Reggaeton..!

Richard is also very passionate about his music, having been a DJ throughout Devon for 15 years and resident DJ on the Torquay circuit. Richard has quite an ear for the music and with this puts a 'funky' influence to his dancing. He attributes all this to great teaching from his 'mentor' - and his Carribean Roots (being half Trinidadian).
