Summer in the UK rocks... except for the rain! We've had some great Salsa over the last few weeks - classes & parties... On1 and On2, and we're going to keep it going over the summer - with more 'Summer Special' courses, special classes and new classes... along with great parties... read on...

1. Salsa Saturday TORQUAY - Saturday 21st August
July's Salsa Saturday rocked The Grosvenor with Salseros and Salseras from far and wide joining us! We're back to do it all again right in the middle of summer for our next day of workshops and party at The Grosvenor this month... and Merengue is back on the menu.
Bring yourselves down and bring some friends along for our afternoon Salsa workshops and to find out why Merengue is great to get the party started in the evening!
The party kicks off at 9.00pm (after the 8.00pm merengue class for all levels) with hot Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue & Bachata all night... don't miss it! Also - we want your requests in the DJ booth so come and let us know what you want - if we've got it we'll play it...
We look forward to seeing you there...
Programme for the day:
1.00 - 2.30pm: Technique
3.00 - 4.30pm: Improvers
5.00 - 6.30pm: Intermediates
8.00 - 9.00pm: Merengue (all levels)
9.00pm - 1.00am: Party...

2. Viva Mambo - Summer break
Big shout to our Viva Mambo dancers... we've been loving our On2 and Cha Cha this year - many thanks to all who have been attanding.
Viva Mambo will be taking a break over the summer - but will be back on Sunday 26th September with more Cha Cha.

3. Summer classes - holidays etc
Stick a note in your diaries all Plymouth & Torquay Salseros for week commencing Monday 9th August...
PLYMOUTH: There will be no classes on Monday 9th August.
TORQUAY: There will be no classes on Wednesday 11th August.
4. BRISTOL specials
Couple of great specials for you this month at our Bristol classes on Thursdays... the 7.00pm ("Intro to Latin") and 8.30pm (Improvers) classes will still be running as normal - but our 9.30 - 10.30pm classes (normally Intermediates) will be as follows on the following dates:
Thursday 5th August: Improvers Bachata with James
Thursday 12th August: Improvers Cha Cha with Bill
5. EXMOUTH specials
We've also got a couple of great specials for you this month at our Exmouth classes on Tuesdays... the 7.30pm (Beginners' course) will still be running as normal - but our 8.30 - 9.30pm class (normally "Move to Improvers") will be as follows on the following dates:
Tuesday 3rd August: Salsa shines
Tuesday 10th August: Cha Cha shines
6. Summer special courses
Calling all Abanico Salseros - be sure to check the website as we have lots of good stuff happening over the summer at most of our venues... including:
- Special Summer Salsa courses
- On2 course
- "Intro. to Latin" courses (Cha Cha, Bachata & Merengue)
...as well as our usual mix of classes & parties..!
7. DX summer classes
As usual over the summer period some of our Salsa DX classes will be amalgamating or taking a break... so - be sure to check with your instructor to keep up to date on what's going on.
Alternatively check the DX website to find out where you can still catch a class over the summer.
8. On2 classes in Bristol
After the success of our latest On2 course in Bristol - and the many requests to continue! - we are very happy to announce that we have lined up some studio time between now and the end of the year for some more On2 classes in Bristol.
So - stick these dates in your diaries folks:
10.00am - 1.00pm on the following Saturdays:
11th September
2nd October
20th November
4th December

Lots of you have already been 'distracted' in class by the shoe table..! Be sure to get in touch, or ask in class, if you would like to see our range of dance shoes...
10. DJ Lubi presents 100% Salsa
Not got your copy yet..? You know what to do! Highly recommended if you fancy some up to date Salsa... CD 1 is a bit 'harder' and CD 2 is a bit 'smoother'... you'll recognize tracks off both CDs from the dance floor at our parties! We still can't believe you get 29 tracks for just under £6!! |
11. Scottish Salsa Congress
It's not until January 2011 but we wanted to give you a heads up on this event so that you can plan early and get cheap flights...
Angus has been booked to teach at The Scottish Salsa Congress next year and is already excited about it! All reports form friends & students who have attended the event for the last two years rate it as one of their favourites and Sagi Iluz (the organiser) is building up a loyal following...

12. Latino Beat 2011
Another heads up for 2011...
Neville and the Latino Beat team are putting together a great event to start 2011 - their 6th Latin Festival Paradise UK...
Angus will be there along with instructors from around the UK for a weekend of workshops, partying and live music...
