September is always a good fun month as it's great to see familiar faces coming back for a dance after the summer break, and lots of new beginners catching the Salsa bug...

1. Salsa Saturday @ The Grosvenor, Torquay - 18th October

18th October is our next Salsa Saturday @ The Grosvenor and this month it's time for some more Bachata...

We'll be having our Salsa workshops for all levels during the day and will kick off the evening with a Bachata class for all levels - don't worry if you've never danced Bachata, we'll show you the basics and put together a turn pattern for you to dance...

We look forward to seeing you there...

Programme for the day:

1.00- 2.30pm: Technique
3.00 - 4.30pm: Improvers
5.00 - 6.30pm: Intermediates

8.00 - 9.00pm: Bachata
9.00pm - 1.00am: Party...

2. Beginners' courses

A quick reminder that we have our next Beginners' courses starting at the end of October and the beginning of November - depending on venue...

...and we have a brand new Beginners' course starting on Tuesday 7th October in Looe, Cornwall.

3. Music recommendations

This month's music recommendation is 'by popular demand'...!

Many of you have been asking if any of the "counting tracks" are available to buy - well everyone's favourite UK based Salsero Alex Wilson has now made the hunt that much easier.

This track has Alex Wilson counting along and introducing the different instruments and sections as his band play - a great track if you are looking for a slow one to practice to...

5. Special offers

Don't forget to ask your Abanico Salsa teachers about any special offers... for example if you introduce a friend who signs up for our Beginners' course you could receive a free Salsa class (Improvers or Intermediate).

Some venues also offer group discounts for Beginners' courses, or block booking discounts for Salsa classes.

6. Abanico Salsa Birthday at The Hand Stadium

Another big thank you to Sue Fisher, The Hand Stadium's "Salsa Godmother", for the fantastic cake to celebrate Abanico salsa's first birthday at The Hand Stadium - Sue has been with Bill & Den since they started last year, only missing 1 week when she was on holiday!

(Don't worry - they've had a word and she's promised it won't happen again!)
